Everybody wants to pitch to the top publications but they can’t publish every story that’s submitted. As publications grow they get more strict on their rules and it’s a little bit too much for new writers. If you believe in yourself you can absolutely pitch any publication and if you think your writing needs more practice, consider pitching publications that accept new writers. I think as a new writer before you hit publish a lot comes to your mind, maybe fear or you’re not confident in your writing.
I personally didn’t think my writing was worth anything until I started seeing comments from people appreciating my work. Right now I know everything is worth it, every single piece of advice I give and every person I help, that’s my pride.
Choose Carefully
Writing for a publication gives you exposure to a bigger audience and if you don’t choose carefully you’ll be in the wrong wrong place at the right time and your content won’t get the kind of engagement it should be getting.
Your article might get accepted in a top publication but to the wrong audience and that costs you a lot. The moment your start noticing the impact of your writing in other people’s lives and being able to make a living out of it, you won’t want to waste any of your articles by putting them in front of the wrong audience.
when you want to write for a publication do your research first and find out what kind of stories do well there don’t just read their guidelines and that’s it.
